TRUE SYMPHONIC ROCKESTRA - Official Website Up And Running; Picture Gallery And Production Notes Available
As previously reported, vocalist James LaBrie recently recorded vocals for an opera-oriented project called TRUE SYMPHONIC ROCKESTRA. The project#s official website is now up and running at www.tsr-project.com. The mastermind and producer of the project, Dirk Ulrich, has now issued the following introduction to the site and TSR:
"Hey everyone!
Welcome to the website of the TSR Project. As you will find out when looking through our pages there are some years of work behind this idea, a lot of very talented people involved, and an international team of artists and producers from Germany, Canada, Ucraine and Russia!
When we started to develop the TSR concept back in 2000 the basic idea behind it was to get 3 world-class singers to perform the "Best Of" repertoire of the original 3 Tenors (Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, José Carreras) … in ROCK versions!
Although mixing classical and rock music has already been done before in the past we do believe that the TSR Project is a new and unique combination of these two forces… probably the first time ever to feature two world-class classical tenors and one of the most respected voices in rock on one entire album!
Needless to say with a dream-cast like the TSR has that this first TSR album is in no way a persiflage or satire but a serious attempt to transport the music of the 3 Tenors into the rock-world, and to show the classical world the beauty and power that a rock band can create. Personally I have always been a HUGE fan of the 3 Tenors and the way they approached some of the best-known and best-written songs out there, and as a 'true rocker' I always had the vision of supporting these hymns with the power of a real rocking band…
Well, it´s 2006 by now, and after a lot of (personal and professional) ups and downs we are getting very close to bringing this exciting project to you, the music lovers. There have been a lot of rumours and questions in forums throughout the net, so let me make it official: we are targeting at a release date for the first TSR album ('The 3 Rock Tenors') somewhere around early 2007.
Vladimir Grishko is in personal and direct contact with Luciano Pavarotti and Madame Caballe, who are supporting the TSR idea a lot! We are very honoured by this fact and take this as a big motivation to release some high-class and very 'musical' album!
The music is finished now, but there is still a lot of work to do behind the scenes. We will have to talk to a lot of publishing companies for approvals, set up distribution, promotion, etc. Please be patient for a while, you will be the first to read about any progress on this site, for sure!
Thanks for your interest, we can´t wait to play that awesome music to YOU!"
Dirk & the TSR team.
Ulrich has also provided production notes "for those of you who care":
- All playback arrangements were made and recorded at BRAINROX studios in Germany, from 2000 on... we casted a really good rock band and some very talented yound classical musicians (please check the ARTIST page to find out more details about all the people involved in the TSR).
- BRAINWORX believed in the TSR idea from the beginning on and started to consistantly work on the TSR Project ever since then.
- After being in contact with James from 2001 on we were looking for quite some time to find the right vocal partners for James and some powerful business partner to take the TSR to the next level.
- We were almost ready to go on finishing the music in 2003 when Dirk had to stop working on the TSR for about 2 years due to some very sad familiar tragedy.
- In 2005 Dirk & James met again and decided to join forces now to finally bring the TSR to life.
- A few months later Dirk got aware of the incredible classical tenor Thomas Dewald, who agreed to become the second of the 3 Rock Tenors very fast!
- Just a few weeks later BRAINWORX met Igor Marin (the owner of MARINSOUND, Russia) accidentally and they decided to become partners in the TSR. Igor just recently started a new WORLD CLASS studio in Krasnodar, Russia, and as a huge fan he decided to support the TSR right away, making it finally possible to record the vocals and mix the TSR album in his fantastic studio.
- MARINSOUND had contacts with the world-renowned classical tenor VLADIMIR GRISHKO, and when he agreed to become the third rocking tenor the team was complete and all of us headed towards Russia!
- In July 2006 the TSR album production was finished. BRAINWORX and MARINSOUND are now working on making this release happen a.s.a.p.
Cheers, Dirk.
