Pain et Mystery par exemple : excellent!
Je connaissais pas du tout Ayreon avant..
J'avais essayé the electric machin chose.. et j'avais pas trop accroché ...

vraiment un excellent album... pour être honnête, l'histoire m'a arraché quelques larmes... je trouve ça génial quand de la musique parvient à faire ça... donc je m'achèterai l'édition collector, obligé!

J'ai trouvé cette analyse sur le forum de MP. Évidemment ça ne concerne que l'avis d'une personne, et comme les paroles ne sont pas encore disponible, il se peut fort bien qu'il se soit trompé (même avec les paroles l'analyse reste une chose délicate)
Cependant je la trouve très bonne laors je vous la met ici

Day 1: The main character’s wife and best friend are in the hospital, near his bedside. Even this first part has some clues about things later in the story. The wife says to the friend, in response to his concern for the main character, “Do you feel responsible?â€
Day 2 & 3
The main character awakens to find he is not in the real world, but somehow in his mind. People are talking to him that seem real.
Day 4: The accident is discussed (I believe by the wife and friend). What would have caused a single car accident? The wife asks. “Do you think he’s seen it?†Do you think he knows? Do you think he has been there? Another clue I believe.
Day 5: Again, the main character must confront all the voices. Reason tells him that these voices are his only way out since he does not seem able to regain consciousness. And what they say. He is told, “He was afraid to live and now he is afraid to dieâ€. He decides that these voices are telling him something and he must learn the questions being posed in order to fight death and get back to reality.
Day 6. The examination of his life begins in childhood. The main character confronts the pain he experienced. His father left his mother. His was a wretch of a man who beat him, criticized him no matter what he did. This leads to some of the later plot. Especially the Line “You swore one day you’d be better than himâ€
Day 7. His best friend from the bedside begins talking to the main character, recounting tales from their lives together. He is asking his friend to come back to him and rejoin the living. The main character can here his friend but is unable to awaken, something is holding him back.
Day 8. We are taken back to childhood. During school, he is picked on. Rage spurns him on to violence towards his bullies. I believe Pride is also telling him that he must show them up. Reason is telling him that this is not the way to solve this problem. Another key is the main characters claim to try to get back at them some day, just as he promised to show hi father he would be something.
Day 10: Back by his bedside, his wife notes that he has been in a come for a long time and the doctors can find nothing wrong with him. She guesses that something else might be keeping him back. She and the best friend start trying to talk to him again and bring him back by reminiscing about memories together.
Day 11: The main character recounts meeting his wife and the love and fear he felt when he first saw her. He remembers feeling scared as well as the memory of his father and mother. He is warned that he will end up like his father if he treats her badly and he must tell her how he feels about her.
Day 12: The main character begins to realize that his physical body is in the hospital bed and that he cannot escape the emotions, trauma and memories of his past. The only real way out is to delve deeper into exploring these feelings and his mistakes. Some key things begin to come out here. He discovers that he abandon his mother in her time of need. The decisions he made in life have hurt many people but he ignores it and keeps those emotions repressed. Regret for the way he has treated people like his mother needs to be dealt with if he wants to awaken.
Day 13: Another big revelation here, it becomes clear that he has ignored his wife and forsaken her love for his own ambition. He feels regret and wonders why his wife would stay with him after his treating him this way. Back by his bedside his wife and friend notices that he is crying and wonders if he is “raging insideâ€. They wonder if he is “angry because of usâ€
Day 14: He talks with his pride and it is discovered partly because of the feelings of his childhood he is driven to be successful in business at any cost (this is important later). All this neglect of his loved one seems to originate for the need to make up for the taunting and doubt he encountered an a child He realizes he is getting even closer to the feelings and knowledge that will allow his escape.
Day 15: While in business with his friend, who had tampered with the records after a bad deal, he leaves this evidence out for people to discover and gets his friend fired. These are emotions that he had denied for a long time since he never told his best friend. He decides that this has weighed on him for too long and must reveal the betrayal to his best friend who has always been the “better manâ€
Day 16: His father appears to torment him.
Day 17: He begins to remember the accident. He is driving and all these memories are catching up to him and only the love for his wife is getting him through. But he sees his wife with another man and his whole life flashes before his eyes, because the only thing he still held dear was ruined. Love left him. He swerves the car off the road. The man in his wife’s arms was his best friend.
Day 18: He goes through all the things he feels and what he must do now that he knows the truth.
Day 19: The best friend talks to the main character and confesses his affair. In a time of need because of the loss of his job, he was depressed. The wife tells him that while he loves her, that the main character neglected her because he was physically and emotionally unavailable. The best friend knows that on the day of the accident that he saw them together. The wife and best friend tell him that she still loves the main character and they ask for forgiveness. The main character hears this and knows he must return to her.
Day 20: The main character confesses his betrayal to his friends how it was he who had gotten him fired and ruined his career. He comes to terms with all the issues of his past. He feels relief for unburdening himself as his friend forgives him. This helps set in motion the final steps that help him get back to reality and consciousness and another chance to make his life better.
**Ending spoilers** It turns out that this was all a part of the dream sequencer and just a relieved portion of a past life. I believe that this is the main character from the last two albums that the new migrator who is rediscovering emotion. |

Pour le moment je me suis arrêter au Day Twelve, je trouve ça passablement ennuyeux... Mise à part la repompe floydienne de la piste 2 ou 3 ( tout le monde aura reconnu One of these days plus un peu de synthé digne pris sur un wish u were here je pense...)...
Bref, je suis pour le moment plutot déçu malgrès le panel de vocalistes trippant sur la galette, le côté musical me passionne pour le moment pas du tou ou presque...
J'espère revenir avec une meilleure opinion.

Bon... Bon... BON !!!!! Voilà quoi... il tourne en boucle dans mon lecteur...
Je ne sais pas comment s'est arrivé mais... je l'ai mis en fond musical pendant que je faisais autre chose et finalement j'ai vraiment accroché surtout à cause des Day two and Eleven.
L'histoire est assez excellente et vraiment bien nuancés par les chanteurs presents c'est excellent. la musique est bonne, emballante, assez originale pour le coup car ça aurait pu être plus pompeux et rechauffé. Faut pas se le chacher Arjen a dû bouffer du Floyd avant d'enregistré ça car certains morceaux ou passages, s'ils ne sont pas repompés ou très inspirés, auraient pu être pondu par la bande à Waters...
C'est quand même très bon et je prefère de loin le CD1 au deuxième pour le moment mais comme le reste ça pourrait évoluer...
Comme quoi des fois.... faudrait peut-être que je fasse la même expérience avec Snow, je pourrais comprendre pourquoi il est bien...

Ca y est, j'ai l'édiditon super collector... Très beau packaging, et le dvd est vachement sympa, il y a même un passage avec des prises de voix ratées, c'est bien marrant...

Je découvre AYREON avec cet album et j'aime vraiment beaucoup!!
Bien sur, on peut trouver quelques similitudes avec des album-concepts passés comme Tommy ou certains PINK FLOYD, mais c'est vraiment un superbe ouvrage!
Que vallent ses "grands frères"?
